Introducing the 2022 Kia EV6 Electric Vehicle

The 2022 Kia EV6 is the first-ever dedicated electric vehicle from the automaker. While Kia offers electric motors in the Niro and Soul, the EV6 is the first-ever vehicle designed only as an EV. It comes with a pair of available powertrains and several highly desirable interior, tech, and driver-assistive features.

Impressive Battery Range and Charging Performance

Buyers can choose the EV6 in four trims with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The two RWD models have either a 58-kWh battery or a 77.4-kWh battery. The AWD models come with the 77.4-kWh battery and a pair of motors.

The smaller battery delivers 167 horsepower, while the larger battery and single-axle motor ups the horsepower to 218. The first all-wheel-drive model has dual motors that combine to create 313 horsepower, while the top trim – the EV6 GT – gets 576 horsepower and goes from 0-60 MPH in 3.5 seconds.

The 2022 Kia EV6 specs include an impressive battery range of approximately 300 miles. Buyers can use 400V and 800V DC fast chargers to add 70 miles of range in under five minutes. Drivers can also use the fast charger to add 70 percent of their battery range in under 18 minutes. Using a Level 2 charger, the EV6 charges in about seven hours.

High-Tech Driver-Assistive Features

Along with an impressive battery range, the 2022 Kia EV6 features include several driver-assistive and infotainment technology. Buyers get a pair of 12-inch screens for instrumentation and infotainment. They also get an augmented reality head-up display with 3D images about speed and navigation. The EV6 has standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Kia offers available features like a premium 14-speaker Meridian audio system and wireless smartphone charging. The unique navigation system provides walking directions from the EV6’s parking spot.

The driver-assistive safety features are plentiful on the EV6. They include Blind-Spot Monitors, High Beam Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Assist, and Highway Driving Assist for a semi-autonomous experience.

Sustainable Interior Features

The EV6 comes with sustainable interior trims. Buyers can choose trims with vegan leather upholstery and recycled plastic dash materials.

The two-spoke steering wheel has instrumentation and infotainment controls, and the rear cargo space holds up to 27.7 cubic feet with the rear seats upright and 53.5 with them folded. The First Edition will have a panoramic sunroof and three color combinations and heated and ventilated front seats.
